Bill was born in Rocky Mount, NC in 1930; served in the US Navy, 1950-54; BSME from NC State University, 1954-58. Happily married 52 years to wife, Carolyn; three grown children, eight grandchildren; first, just married in October, 2005.

Worked at General Electric Jet Engine Dept in Evendale, Ohio (1958-61); E.I. Dupont Co, Textile Fibers Dept. in Kinston, N.C. (1961-67); Hamm, Germany (1967-70); Old Hickory, TN (1970-86); Seaford, DE (1986-89); and Old Hickory, TN (1989-91).

Since 1991 retirement, interests in US, Asian, and European travel, reading, woodworking, photography, computing, investing, walking, and church choir.
